Point-of-Sale

As explained before, the PBS Interface is integrated in the Point of Sale module. To enter the Point of Sale module, you must:

• Select from the Main menu the Point of Sale option.
• Select from the Point of Sale Main menu the Point of Sale option.
• Depending on the terminal settings (Point of Sale - Miscellaneous options - Terminal details - Point of Sale access parameter), you might have to select the Service option from the menu.
• Select the Operator from the table.

To use the PBS Interface, create a WIP for a customer by selecting the customer and vehicle. Put the labourlines and parts on the WIP that match the work that must be done to the vehicle.

After the labour is performed and parts have been assembled, you can complete the WIP by:

• Complete the labourlines by double clicking the order status of a labourline.
• The Labour Details form is opened.
• Select the Mechanic from the Mechanic number table.
• Enter the Time Taken. This field should contain the time the mechanic actually used to perform the labour.

  Note: When using the Clocking system, these field are automatically filled when accepting the clocked hours.

• Tick the Performed Based tick box in the workshop groupbox, to indicate that the this line is taken to the PBS system.
• Select the OK button to confirm the changes.

After the Performed Based checkbox has been ticked on a Labour line and after a Labour line has changed the status from Memo to Completed, it is possible to take the labour lines to the PBS Interface.

PBS warnings

Depending on the parameter settings, you will get a warning or are forced to enter the PBS Interface if any discrepanties are found:

• Before quiting a WIP
• Before saving a WIP
• Before printing any WIP document
• After printing an invoice

Warning

If a PBS warning is given, the Performed Base Salary form displays the message: "WARNING !! Discrepanties found in PBS-assigned lines". Selecting the PBS button will enter the PBS Interface, selecting the Accept button will exit the Performed Base Salary form without any consequences.

Mandatory

If the PBS warning parameter(s) are set to Mandatory, the Performed Base Salary form isn't displayed, the PBS Interface is entered directly. How to use the PBS Interface is explained later on in these helpfiles.

Note: The warning or mandatory entry of the PBS Interface only occurs if discrepanties are found.
