Set-up the Autoline parameters

In order for the EKS interface to function correctly, you must set up the parameters within the Autoline system.

Access Mercedes-Benz parameters

To access the Mercedes-Benz parameters

  1. Select from the Main menu the Manufacturer Systems option, combined with company MB.

    The Mercedes-Benz Main Menu is displayed.

  2. Select from the Mercedes-Benz Main Menu the Menu - Utilities option.

    The Mercedes-Benz Utilities menu is displayed.

  3. Select from the Mercedes-Benz Utilities menu the Mercedes-Benz Parameters option.

    The Mercedes-Benz Parameter Configuration Utility form is displayed.

Change EKS And BIX Parameters

To change the EKS And BIX Parameters

  1. Select from the Project parameters area the EKS And BIX, which are located in the Service group.

  2. Select in the concerning company.

  3. Click Amend.

  4. Complete the EKS And BIX parameters and click Save.

Files that have to be created

Before you can use the EKS Interface, some files must be created otherwise you will receive a message and the Interface will not work.

Examples of the files that have to be created are:

  • MB.MS.tadef
  • MB.MS.codef
  • MS.MB.vedef
  • MB.MB.locex
  • MB.MS.targt
  • MB.MS.compy
  • MB.MS.vehic
  • MB.MS.vsrec
  • **.MK.vehic.ek ** should be filled with the Marketing company number.

    The files can be created in the File Utilities option, which is in the Utilities menu.

    EKS Communication Type

    When using the Export option in the EKS Interface, a communication request is created in the Communication program. This communication request will send the created EKS Export file, using the details in the Communication type.

    The EKS Export Interface will create a Communication request called EKSE and before you start using the EKS Interface, you must create and complete a Communication Type called EKSE in the Communication program. For further details see the helpfiles of the communication program.
