General Parameter Set Up

Before you can use the Gate pass functionality, you need to set up a number of parameters.

Access Mercedes-Benz parameters via the Mercedes-Benz Utilities menu

Complete the Gate pass printing parameters

Access WL System parameters via the Workshop loading menu

Complete the Return Keys parameter

Access Mercedes-Benz parameters via the Mercedes-Benz Utilities menu

To access the Mercedes-Benz parameters

  1. Select from the Main menu the Manufacturer System option, combined with company MB.

    The Mercedes-Benz Main Menu is displayed.

  2. Select from the Mercedes-Benz Main Menu, the Menu - Utilities option.

    The Mercedes-Benz Utilities menu is displayed.

  3. Select from the Mercedes-Benz Utilities menu the Mercedes-Benz parameters option.

    The Mercedes-Benz parameters configuration utility form is displayed.

Complete the Generic parts parameters

You need to set up the Generic parts parameters for the Gate pass functionality.

  1. Select from the Project parameters area the POS printing parameters, which are located in the Service group.

  2. Select the concerned company.

  3. Click Amend.

  4. Complete the fields of POS printing parameters on the Gate pass printing tab and click Save.

Access WL System parameters via the Workshop loading menu

To access the WL System parameters

  1. Select from the Main menu the Workshop loading option, combined with the required company.

    The Workshop loading menu is displayed.

  2. Select from the Workshop loading menu, the System maintenance option.

    The WL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu is displayed.

  3. Select from WL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu the System parameters option.

    The WL System parameters form is displayed.

Complete the Return Keys parameter

You need to set up the Return Keys parameters for the Gate pass functionality.

  1. On the WL System parameters form you can find the Return keys parameter in the Miscellaneous group on the Options 1 tab.

  2. Click Amend.

  3. Complete the Return keys parameter and click Save.

Return keys: This parameter allows us to check the vehicle out of Workshop loading, when set to Manual the user is responsible for checking the vehicle out and when set to Automatic the vehicle is checked out automatically when the WIP has been fully invoiced at the end of the day.

Note: When the parameter is set to Automatic it will set the WIP date to the date it was invoiced, the mileage will be set to the mileage recorded when checked in.

The Gate pass development can run in two ways, depending on the Return keys parameter.

  1. If the Return keys parameter in the workshop loading system parameters is set to Automatic, the Gate pass will be printed when invoicing the WIP.

  2. If the Return keys is set to Manual, the Gate pass document is printed when the Vehicle is returned to the customer, using the Return vehicle to customer option of Workshop loading.
