EPC Set-up

In order for the Point-of-Sale interface to function correctly, you must set up the Workstation parameters within the EPC software.

Enable the Shopping list to file feature

A new item has been added to the workstation configuration menu allowing the administrator user to enable and disable the "shopping list transfer to file" option. When this option is "ON" the current shopping list is written to a transfer file after the occurrence of any of the events listed below. When this option is "OFF" no transfer file is written. Any transfer file(s) that already exist will not be affected. This option has no effect on the capability of the EPC to save shopping lists in its own internal format on a user-by-user basis.

To set up the workstation options:

  1. Log into the EPC as user UTILS, the (default password is 'MBAG').

  2. Select option 2, Modify Workstation Configuration and give as password: MBAG

  3. On the second page of the screen that will appear, Arrow key -> to select that page. (The numbering can be different).

  4. Set the option "Transfer shopping list to file" to ON.

User configuration parameters

The user configuration needs to be modificated.

To access the workstation settings:

  1. Log into the EPC as user UTILS.

  2. Select choice 3, Modify Workstation Configuration.

  3. Select the user you want to change, default password is MBAG.

  4. Set the Chassis in Shop List, Code in Shop List and Remarks in Shop List parameters to ON.

File Modification Timing

The shopping list transfer file for a given workstation is written any time the current shopping list in the EPC changes.

To access the workstation settings:

  1. Log into the EPC. The shopping list in EPC is initialised to be empty, so the transfer file is written with no part data.

  2. When you return to the user login screen or exit the EPC. Now the transfer file is deleted.

  3. Add a part to the EPC shopping list.

  4. Make any modifications to the list in the Shopping List Display screen in the EPC.

  5. Load a pre-existing shopping list.

  6. Save the current shopping list. This only changes the name of the current shopping list in the header line of the transfer file to reflect the new shopping list name.

Note: When you do not go to the login screen, the previous shopping list will stay in memory.
