Star Parts Interface

The Star Parts Interface is the Star Network version of the EPC. When using the Star Network Interface, dealer don't have the EPC locally installed, but they connect to the Star Parts Interface.

To start the Star Parts interface, you must:

Select the Electronic Parts Catalogue icon in the Toolbar of the Point of Sale screen.

When the EPC icon is selected, a call performed to the Star Parts Interface. Star Network will be started and a new bookmark is created.
In the Star Parts interface, you are able to select parts and create a shopping list. When selecting the Transfer list button on the Star Exchange screen, the shoppinglist will be transferred into Autoline.
Just as in the Star Standard Interface, you are able to select and deselect the parts that you want to load onto the WIP by ticking the Load column.
After you have decided what parts you want to upload, select the Load to WIP button from the Star Network - Star Parts Interface screen.

Parameter settings

Before you can start using the Star Exchange interface, you must have your parameters setup. The Star Exchange parameters are stored within the Manufacturer Systems module.

To setup the Star Exchange parameters you must:

Select from the Main menu the Manufacturer Systems menu, together with company MB.
Select from the Mercedes-Benz Main menu the Menu - Utilities option.
Select from the Mercedes-Benz Utilities menu the Parameters option.
The MB Parameters & Controls screen is opened.
For every Point of Sale company the parameters have to be setup. Select the Point of Sale company for which you would like to setup the Star Exchange parameters.
Select the Amend button and complete the parameters on the Star Network tab. The parameters are explained on the next page.

Use Star Exchange: Select this parameter when the Star Exchange interface should be used in stead of the local installed versions of EPC, WIS and ASRA.

STAR NETWORK Call: This parameter will be used to call the start network functionality.
