Market settings
After having a market selected, it is possible to set up the Market settings. The Market Settings menu is enabled after a market is selected.
Market parameters
The Market parameters are divided into three tabs, all parameters on all three tabs are explained below.
Calculation defaults
- Standard calculation group: This is the calculation group that will be assigned to a part if there are no specific criteria found to assign another calculation-group for this part, or if the calculation group itself is not specified in the calculation group table.
- Calculation report: The calculation of the retail- and wholes prices will be done in the calculation program. The output and possible (extra) selection criteria can be defined in a normal report, in the report-generator.
In the derived coding of the reports should be a special routine from the price calculation program be set up. This routine will make sure the calculation is done according to the criteria and setting in the Calculate Parts Retail Prices program.
The advantages of reports is that users can create their own reports and with help of the selection criteria they are able to exclude or include parts from the calculation. The default report MS.PRP.rd can be used as an example. It is possible to create up to 10 reports, which can be used to calculate the parts prices. Creating user defined reports will be discussed further in these helpfiles.
The calculation is based on the calculation groups which are assigned to the part depending on information on the stock record. If no stock record is available, which means that the part is not stocked at the importer, the default parameters will be used.
- Default calculation group: The default calculation-group is used if there is no stock record available for the part, unless there are specific calculation-groups defined for non-stocked items.
- Default parts category: Calculation groups can be assigned by using parts categories, which are present on the stock-record. In case of a non-stocked item this default-parts-category will be considered as the parts-category.
- Default MLI: As in case of the default parts-category, also a default for the Selling-Discount-code (MLI-2) can be set. If no stock record is available the default MLI is taken.
- MLI equals RG: If this parameter is ticked, the discount code from the price file (purchase discount code) is considered also to be the selling discount code. In that case the default MLI parameter has no sense anymore.
- Calculate NO retail prices: Ticking this parameter will result in zero amounts for the retail- and whole sales prices of non-stocked parts. In this case all previous parameters setting will be ignored.
Creation defaults
- Export parts-prices: Select what prices should be in the dealer price file. Since there is no price file available in which two sales prices can be stored, you must select to export the calculated retail price or the calculated whole sales price. Only if the market for which prices are calculated is also the local-market, the calculated prices can be stored directly back into the master price file. Exporting the VLP prices is only possible if the output price file type is set up as MIGPRDE. This type of price file is the only price file that can have the vendor list price and the local retail prices.
- Export languages: In the MIGPRD/MIGPRDE price file the descriptions of a part can be stored in one language, only the SPICS parts catalogue price file can contain maximal three languages. Depending on the general language settings, it is possible to select what languages should be exported in the dealer price file. The general settings of languages will be described as a separate item.
Export to dealers
- Export to dealers: Per Market it is possible to set up the dealers to which the market price file should be exported.
Click the grid to add a new communication type and dealer.
Note: The communication type must be available in the communication program, otherwise the request which must send the dealer price file will never be send!
Calculation Groups
Per Market also the Calculation Groups need to be set up. Calculation groups are used to divide the price file into proverbial calculation groups. Each calculation group can have different factors, to calculate the retail and whole sales prices.
- Group Code: The group code or calculation group is used to give a name and description to the calculation factors used for a certain part of the parts in the price file. The ranges for selection used to determine if a part belongs to a certain calculation group can be defined on the Assign criteria tab.
Calculation Factors
- Cost Price Base: Select from the table what cost price you want to use for the calculation.
- A Average cost price
- L Last landed cost price
- N Vendor net price
- V Vendor list price
Note: If the part is not found on the stock file, the average cost price or the last landed cost price is selected from the table as base for the calculation; this price is automatically replaced by the vendor list price.
- Include Customs Duty: Tick this parameter to make sure that available customs duty on that part (only in case of stocked parts) is included in the price calculation.
- Cost Insurance Factor (CIF): The factor by which the cost price base is multiplied, e.g. CIF = 1 will not effect the cost price.
- Sales Price Factor: This is the percentage by which the intermediate result of the cost price base will be raised. E.g. SF = 0 means no raise, SF = 100 means the twice the cost price base.
- Whole Sale Price Factor: Same explanation as the previous one, in this case it is used to calculate the whole sales price.
Retail- and whole price calculation using calculation group factors:
- Take the cost price-base (vendor net, vendor list, average cost price or last landed cost price).
- Bring this cost price base to the base currency using the price calculation currency rate table.
- Multiply this base currency amount by the CIF factor.
- If available and set up in the parameters, add duty costs.
- Raise the amount by the sales factor (or whole sale factor if a whole sale price should be calculated).
- Bring to the market currency using the price calculation currency rate table.
- Round to the next value according the currency rounding factors.
Assign criteria
The Assign criteria tab enables you to set up criteria to select parts from the price file for which the calculation factors are applicable during the calculation.
The criteria can be defined on full vendor codes, left matches on marketing-code, full discount (RG) codes, full MLI codes and full parts categories.
Note: If two calculation groups have overlapping criteria, the last calculation group will considered to be the correct one.
Current price File
The Current Price File option enables you to look at the price file created for the selected market after the calculation has been done.
