Maintaining Letters Form

The Letters toolbar button facilitates the creation / maintenance of campaign related letters that can be associated with vehicles within the campaign.

There are three types of letters that are available for Service Campaigns.

What do you want to do?

Letter Editor Form

This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Service > Menu - Service campaigns > New service campaigns module > Letters RowAmend.gif button.

Menu Bar and Action:

Menu bar Action
File > New Create a new campaign letter.
File > Open Open an matching campaign letter.
File > Copy Copy an existing letter to another Campaign.
File > Exit Exit the campaign letter editor function.

Maintain > Save Save the created / maintained campaign letter.
Maintain > Cancel Cancel the creation / maintenance of a campaign letter.
Maintain > Delete Delete a campaign letter.

Help > Help Displays this help topic in a web browser.
Help > About Displays version and copyright information.

Letter: Name of campaign letter.

Note: The Letter field is only available for maintenance when actioned using the New AddFolder.gif function.

Option buttons:

Fields:

0 - Derived: Tab containing the pre-defined derived data fields.

Selection: Tab containing the pre-defined derived data fields.

1 - Customer: Tab containing the available data fields from the CRM customer record.

2 - Vehicle: Tab containing the available fields from the CRM vehicles data record.

Text Area Buttons:

Font style: Changes the font face.

Font Size: Changes the font size.

Bold: Makes the selected text bold.

Italic: Italicizes the selected text.

Underline: Underlines the selected text.

Bullets: Starts a bulleted list.

Decrease indent: Decreases the indent level of the paragraph.

Increase indent: Increases the indent level of the paragraph.

Left Align: Aligns text to the left hand side.

Center: Centers text.

Right Align: Aligns text to the right hand side.

Text Letter Area:

A free format text entry area used to compile the campaign letter text.

Creating a New Letter For The Campaign

To create a new letter for the campaign:

  1. Clicking the New AddFolder.gif toolbar button displays a blank Letter Editor form.

  2. Enter the new letter description into the Letter field.

  3. Double-click on the field values to add them to the letter.

  4. Enter your text for the Text Letter Area.

  5. Click Save Save.gif to save the entered letter.

Tip: Place the cursor on the position where you want to add the field option and leave a space between the values, for example, the first and the surname.

Opening an Existing Letter

To open an existing letter:

  1. Clicking the Open Open2.gif toolbar button displays a blank Choose letter form.

  2. Select a letter from the dropdown DropDown.gif list.

  3. Click OK to open the required letter.

  4. The selected letter is loaded into the Letter Editor form.

Copying an Existing Letter to Another Campaign

To copy an existing letter to another campaign:

  1. Clicking the Copy Copy2.gif toolbar button displays a blank Choose letter form.

  2. Select the Other Campaign option from the dropdown DropDown.gif list.

  3. Click OK to copy the selected letter to the selected campaign.

Note: The DropDown list of letters also contains a list other campaigns that the letter can be copied to. The number in front of the text Other Campaign is the campaigns number
