In here you can create a view or change an existing view. On entering this form, the default will be displayed, but you can load one that has already been saved. When you have changed the config and want to view it, click the save current button and then exit to go back to view advanced analysis.
This form consists of 4 areas:
Dataset sequence
Dataset specifies whether the data is made up actual, budget, or forecast values. This is uneditable and would have been previously set up in Add/modify Topics
Include Values
These values will be the defaults, previously set up in Profile Edit in the includes tab.
View Options
Load a previously saved view from here, so that it can be edited.
Display configuration
This is where the default view or the view you have loaded, is changed. It consists of a grid made up of 8 columns and 10 rows that can be individually edited. These are the columns that make up the view. When saved and the ok button is clicked, the view will be shown.
The rows in the grid are as follows:
Note : If Variance is selected from the Type field, the Decimal places, Scale, Factor fields below are enabled, whereas Dataset, Period and Offset fields are not relevant and are disabled.:
Dataset: There are 3 valid datasets: Actual, Budget and Forecast. This is determined at setup of profile (see Profile Edit). The only change that can be made here is the date of the dataset.
Period: Each period is determined at initial set up of profile, in Timeslice, and are used here to define what period to show in each column for example, Period 1 may have been set up to be Jan, Period 2 to be Feb, and so on. There is also a current period for whatever the month is now.
Offset: You can use this to tell the system to take off one month from the last period. For example, if you want to have the first column to display the current period and the next column to be last month as a comparison, you would offset -1, meaning take off 1 month.
Decimal Places: The number of digits displayed after the decimal point in this column. Normally you would set this to zero for financial figures (in other words, round to the nearest pound/euro), but you would probably set it to 1 for a percentage column. (In other words, you would see 13.1 rather than 13.)
Type: Choose from : Default , YTD, Rolling year, Variance. Variance is usually used to compare actuals and budgets.
Figure: Choose from bal, itms, avg - these are set up in profile edit, the first 2 are value fields (BALANCE, COUNT) and the last is set up as a calculation (BALANCE divided by COUNT).
Scale Factor: This can be either None, /th, /mill or /bill. In each case respectively the figures displayed are shown as normal, divided by 1,000, divided by 1,000,000 and divided by 1,000,000,000.
Variance col1: With Variance col1, select which 2 columns to compare in the view.
Variance col2: With Variance col2, select which 2 columns to compare in the view.
Heading: This will be shown at the top of the column in the view.
