Under normal operating conditions, the accrual files retain their integrity. However, on the rare occasion of a system crash, it is possible for the 'header' and 'posting' files to become 'misaligned', particularly if accruals were being created, amended or deleted at the time the problem occurred.
The Rebuild accruals run corrects the links between the header records and their associated postings. It produces a hard copy report of any discrepancies found between the 'pre-rebuild' control value on the header and the total value of the postings found.
When the option is selected, the buttons OK and Cancel are displayed to you.
OK: Proceeds with the rebuild. 'Rebuilding accruals' is displayed at the bottom of the form during the process. When the run has completed the message 'Accruals Verify OK' should appear.
Clicking the Done button returns you to the System Maintenance Menu.
Cancel: Click the Cancel button to quit to the System maintenance menu without performing the rebuild.
