Option Relationships.

This facility allows you to select option to include or exclude against other options, for example, if a vehicle has a sunroof, then exclude air-conditioning. The relationships can be any type, and can be at any level (Franchise/model/variant, and can be inclusions or exclusions.)

For a Pack type option, the relationships are the options it contains. For all other option types, it is the options is that either automatically selected when you select the option, or automatically excluded.

Warning: Ensure that the specification has been saved before including or excluding any options relationship.

The relationships form has the following fields :

Franchise: Displays the franchise.

Model: Displays the model.

Variant: Displays the variant.

Model year: Displays the model year, if completed within the variant record.

Primary option type: Displays the primary option type, this comes from the item selected from the build specification form.

Primary option: Displays the primary option, this comes from the item selected from the build specification form.

Effective from and Effective to: This is the period of the relationship, if these dates are left blank then the relationship will stay within the current generation, if you choose to put a date form and to, this will then override the blank date and the relationship will run for the period recommended.

Option Types

This is a list of the option types available, choose from the following:

  1. Factory fitted options.

  2. Colours.

  3. Packs.

  4. Dealer fitted options.

  5. Extended warranty options.

  6. Non-recoverable options.

  7. Bonus schemes.

  8. Insurances.

  9. Trims.

Option code: Displays the option code.

Description: Displays the full description of the option.

Control

This area controls whether the option being selected is to be included or excluded. The single arrows allow one option to be added or removed from the relationship, the double arrows allows all options within one option type to be added or removed from the relationship.

Relationship types: This lists the relationship types as follows:

  1. Include - The option will be automatically selected when the primary option is selected.

  2. Exclude - The option will be automatically excluded when the primary option is selected.

When options are selected and added to the relationship as inclusions or exclusions, they will display in the grid to the right of the form, the headings are as follows:

Type: Displays the option type.

Option code: Displays the option code.

Description: Displayed the full description of the option.

R: Displays an I for Include or an E for exclude.

Tip: The left hand grid shows options that are available and can be added as an inclusion or exclusion to the primary option. The right hand grid shows options that are already inclusions and exclusions for the primary option.

Warning: Ensure that the specification has been saved before including or excluding any options relationship.

Note: Standard removable options can not exclude other standard removable option.
