Movement Log Form

When the option is initiated by left double clicking the Movement Log button the screen will display the vehicle movement function which comprises of just one screen.

Mode

There is a radio button menu with four options.

  1. Display

  2. Start

  3. Finish

  4. Fuel

This will allow you to create a new movement record. The date and time of the move will be created from the system date and time. The cursor will be in the driver id box on the screen.

Created by: Indicates who the log was created by.

Date created: Indicates the day the log was created.

Heading

Sequence: This is the vehicle movement number. Enter as applicable or use the ellipse [...] search button facility to locate the record you need. The search allows you to locate the movement by using the registration number of the vehicle being moved as a key. Once selected the record is loaded and the cursor will be in the In fuel box on the screen.

Out

Driver id: Type the drivers id or use the ellipse [...] button search facility to find the drivers that are to be selected from the list of users on the system. The screen will allow you to search for the driver name via a standard search window.

Start location: Enter the starting location. The location shown will be the last known location of the vehicle. You may wish to create a pseudo location to indicate that it is being collected from the customers premises.

Out fuel: Enter the fuel level at the start of the movement. This is entered as a percentage of a full tank.

Registration number: Input the registration number of the vehicle to be moved. Once again the system will allow you to search for the vehicle. Be aware that this search will look through all of the vehicle records held on the marketing system. Once the vehicle is selected the latest mileage reading and location will be loaded by the system, these will be used as initial defaults for the movement record.

Group: Indicates the group of vehicles that the driver is entitled to drive, this is recorded on the front of the driving licence.

Start mileage: Enter the mileage at the start of the booking. The last mileage known on the vehicle will already be displayed.

Return

Returned fuel %: Record the fuel used by putting the current fuel tank reading as a percentage. This is not used or any charging, purely as a memorandum.

Return mileage: Enter the mileage showing on the vehicle when the movement was completed.

End location: The location where the movement was completed. Once again some people have created a pseudo location to reflect a movement from or to a customers premises.

Fill up fuel: Enter the quantity of fuel required to fill up the vehicle. This may be edited later if required.

General

Reason: Enter a text description to describe the reason for the movement. You may enter up to 35 characters.

Comments: Enter up to four lines of comments, each up to 70 characters long. A collection address for example.

RADIO BUTTONS

Note: Once these details are complete the Start button will be available.

Start: Re-editing is allowed at any time until the Start button is clicked, and will allow you to correct any of the details already input.

Finish: Once the vehicle movement has taken place this option is used to record the completion details. When the Finish radio button is clicked, you can proceed with selection of the required movement record.

BUTTONS

Tip: Once these details are complete the OK button will be available.

If you save the completed movement the screen will take you back to the first vehicle movement ring menu. Re-edit is allowed at any time until the OK button is clicked and will allow you to correct any of the details already input. clicking the Cancel button will allow you to exit without completing a finished movement record.

Close: This will return you to the reservation screen.

Help: Displays help on the current application using the default browser.
