This screen is accessed via Maintenance Control / Service Schedules / Vehicle Schedules / Schedule By Service Group.
The Group Schedule Options form is displayed which provides the facility to perform certain scheduling functions on a group of vehicles sharing the same servicing group.
The screen is split into three areas. These are the Titlebar, the Group Schedule Options Dialogue Box and a series of Command Buttons at the bottom of the screen.
In addition to displaying the screen name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.
Contains a single field which gives access to a number of group scheduling options.
Selection of the drop-down-arrow button immediately to the right of this field displays a number of options that enable certain scheduling functions on a group of vehicles sharing the same servicing group. The following options are available:
- C Create Schedules
This option prompts for a vehicle profile by displaying the Vehicle Profile form and then reads all the Service Schedule Template Headers, searching for any template that matches the vehicle profile entered.
Note: When the system searches for a service schedule template, the search is carried out at the most specific level first i.e. the system tries to locate a variant specific template first and progressively tries the more general levels (fuel type, model code, franchise) until a match is found. It is also possible to create more than one template with the same vehicle profile; in this circumstance the system prompts with a menu of matching templates found.
Once the vehicle profile selection criteria is entered and the required Service Schedule Template Header selected then the system runs down the agreement/vehicle files, searching for vehicles that do not currently have a schedule set-up and also match the profile entered. For each vehicle found that matches this selection criteria, a projected schedule is calculated from the vehicle registration date and Service Schedule Template Header and the appropriate template item lines generated.
The projected schedule lines are saved to the vehicle schedule file of each vehicle that is processed. In addition. the vehicle record is updated with the service group code used to generate the schedule, the schedule flag is set to Y to indicate a non-amended schedule exists, and the date/odometer ranges are set to show the period over which the projection is made.
- S Create Special
This option operates almost identically to the Create Schedule option. The only difference in operation is that the Service Schedule Template Header to be used is selected from a full list of templates. No attempt is made to locate a specific template that matches the vehicle profile.
- T Schedule Tools
This option provides access to a number of special scheduling tools via the Group Schedule Options (Tools) form. Selection of this option results in the display of a further sub-menu that contains a number of menu options:
- D Delete Schedules
The user is prompted to specify a service group via the Select a Service Group form for which schedules are to be deleted. Once a group is selected, the system prompts for confirmation of deletion. If the deletion is confirmed then ALL vehicle schedule item lines held against vehicles with a matching service group code are deleted. All vehicle records matching this criteria have the service group field set to 0, the schedule flag is set to N to denote that there is no schedule for the vehicle, and the date/period range is also reset to 0.
Warning:This option must be used with extreme care.
The list of command buttons is as follows:
Proceeds with the selected menu option, generating or deleting (where applicable) the appropriate schedule records.
Exits the Group Schedule Options screen and returns to the Vehicle Schedules menu without taking any action.
Provides online context sensitive help.
