This form is accessed via Maintenance Control / Miscellaneous Options / Extract Reason Word File. This is an index that provides the "word search" facility on maintenance codes for when an approval is issued. It is necessary to rebuild this index on a regular basis or after new maintenance codes are added to the system.
The form is split into three areas. These are the Titlebar, the Word Search Dialogue Box and a series of Command Buttons to the right of the form.
In addition to displaying the form name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.
This form is split into two parts. The top half of the form displays the parameters on which the word search is built and displays the following data fields:
Displays the minimum word length upon which the word search facility may be based i.e. 3. This field cannot be edited.
Displays the maximum word length upon which the word search facility may be based i.e. 10. This field cannot be edited.
Displays the keypath for the index i.e. 1 and A . These fields cannot be edited.
Displays a list of non-alphabetic characters deemed to be valid for inclusion within the word search e.g. -/.1234567890. This field cannot be edited.
Displays the number of valid words to be excluded from the word search function. This field cannot be edited.
Displays the number of short words to be included within the word search function. This field cannot be edited.
The bottom half of the form displays the results of the word search extract based upon the parameters above. The following data is displayed:
- Number of Data Records to Scan
- Total Number of Words Found
- Number of Valid Words excluded
- Number of Short Words included
- Word Index File Size (number of sub-words found)
A number of command buttons are available:
Confirms and proceeds with the word search extract function.
Cancels the word search function an returns to the Miscellaneous Options Menu.
Provides online access to a context sensitive Help form.
This command button is used to acknowledge that the word search extract is complete and return to the Miscellaneous Options Menu.
