CONTRACT REWRITE (BUDGETS TAB)

Overview

The Contract Rewrite (Budgets Tab) is accessed via Contract Administration / Administration Options / Contract Rewrite and selection of the Budgets Tab. This enables a comparison between the budget profit makeup of the existing contract (to the left of the form) and the proposed budget profit makeup of the new contract (to the left of the form) that is to be written following selection of the appropriate criteria in the Quote Values Tab.

This form contains the following information:

Current Budgets

The Current Budgets Grid contains the following data fields:

The full description of the profit make-up line (which effectively mirrors the description of the corresponding product element within the quotation).

Essentially the VAT Assumption breakdown code. This is essentially blank for many of the profi records but may contain an F (to denote Finance element) or M (to denote Maintenance element) for the rental or income profit makeup lines.

The contract month from which the profit makeup lines commence posting. A 0 denotes an advance contract payment (+ the first month).

The contract month at which the profit makeup lines cease posting. A 0 denotes an advance contract payment (+ the first month).

The periodic value that is to be posted for the period contained within the Skip field.

The total budget value to be posted for the profit make-up line i.e. the Total Value multiplied by the number of periodic payments made within the contract (for example, if the From column value is a 2 and the To column value is 34 then there would be 33 periodic payments.

The values that have been posted to the profit make-up line to-date.

These fields cannot be edited.

The scroll bar to the right of the grid enables hidden rows to be viewed.

Tip: A single-left-click on a profi row displays the Posting History Review form.

Proposed Budgets

The Proposed Budgets Grid contains the following data fields:

Note: Certain Kestrel systems - when loading an agreement for contract rewrite where the original agreement had a Tyre budget (Source T) but the rewrite does not have a Tyre budget - write out a Tyre budget line at a Zero cost for the period of the rewrite. This is an FLUSER setting.

The scroll bar to the right of the grid enables hidden rows to be viewed.

Tip: A single-left-click on a profi row displays a Legend form that denotes the following:

Denotes that this profi make-up line has not changed from the original value.

Denotes that this profi make-up line has changed from the original value.

The system has had to create a new profit line to accommodate new selection criteria.

This line is no longer valid with the proposed change to the Start Period For Re-Write field and as such will be deleted.

The proposed re-write to the contract may not necessarily simply be re-writing the contract from the original start date (although this may be the case). It is also possible to re-write the contract from a given period within the current contract and this field enables the period for the proposed re-write to be defined.
