Selection of the Contributions Tab from the Usage Management form enables entry of capital contributions towards the vehicle cost from both the driver and from other sources.
This form contains the following information:
If the driver paid a lump sum when the vehicle was provided to them then the total value of the contribution should be entered here.
The total value of the contributions input in the grid below is shown here. In the grid, input the start date, end date, frequency and value of the contributions that the driver is paying, if they are making periodic payments to their company as part of their car allowance. This still relates to what is termed as Capital Contributions.
Note: These two values, Initial contribution and Total other contributions are deducted from the P11D in the calculations to reduce the value on which the tax liability is calculated.
The start date of the period for which the other contribution is made. A single-left-click within the grid displays the Edit Capital Contribution form which allows a capital contribtion to be entered, edited or deleted.
The end date of the period for which the other contribution is made. A single-left-click within the grid displays the Edit Capital Contribution form which allows a capital contribtion to be entered, edited or deleted.
The periodic frequency of contributions made by sources other than the driver. Selection of the
presents a list of current available choices:
- W Weekly
- Q Quarterly
- M Monthly
- Y Yearly
The total value of the other contribution.
The sum total value of the contributions input in the grid below is shown here. In the grid input, the start date, end date, frequency and value of the contributions that the driver is paying. This is the value that the driver pays for his private use of the vehicle. Normally this is a monthly value and is usually deducted at source from the driver's salary. The total private contributions are deducted from the P11D calculations as one of the last calculations before the benefit is calculated.
