The Kestrel system is able to hold maintenance values from a multiplicity of data sources. This field is used to select the required data source values to be modified. Selection of the down arrow presents a drop-down list of data sources currently available to the system e.g. DHS
Selection of the down arrow presents a drop-down list of adjustment calculations that made be made in the cells contained within the grid. These are as follows:
- Grid Replacement
Inserts into the grid an absolute fixed value. The value is entered as a numeric (e.g. 5.25). This value is transferred to the Quotation Values Tab of the Maintenance Value Manipulation form to be used directly within the quotation or ratesbook. The Adjustments Tab also changes to reflect the new value and now displays the exact numeric and percentage values used to move the Original (Import) Values to the new "replacement" Quotation Values.
- Grid Addition/Subtraction
Inserts into the grid a fixed value. This can be a positive or a negative value. The value is entered as a numeric (e.g. 5.25). This value is transferred to the Adjustments Tab of the Maintenance Value Manipulation form and is added to or subtracted from the Original (Import) Values. This is ultimately reflected in the Quotation Values used within the quotation or ratesbook.
- Grid % Adjustment
Inserts into the grid a given percentage. This can be a positive or a negative value. The value is entered as a numeric (e.g. 5.25) and does not require the percentage sign to be input. This value is transferred to the Adjustments Tab of the Maintenance Value Manipulation form and is ultimately reflected in the Quotation Values used within the quotation or ratesbook.
- Create Maintenance
Inserts into the grid an absolute fixed budget value. The value is entered as a numeric (e.g. 5.25). This value is transferred into both the Original (Import) Values and Quotation Values Tab of the Maintenance Value Manipulation form to be used directly within the quotation or ratesbook.
- Reset To Original
If values have been modified in the grid using one of the above options but have subsequently been found to be incorrect then this option can be used to restore the original imported values.
The mutually exclusive option buttons determine whether the values displayed/edited are the total budget values or the pence per mile figures.
The Age/Mileage Grid is determined by the values defined within the Age/Mileage Tab within System Controls.
Each column header displays the appropriate age band e.g. 12Mths, 18 Mths, etc.
Each row header displays the appropriate mileage band e.g. 5000, 10000 miles per annum, etc.
Each cell within the grid is able to hold an appropriate value for each age/mileage combination. This value is dependent upon the selected Grid Action (see above).
A single-right-click in any cell within the grid displays a small sub-menu that prompts selection of the following grid edit types:
- Adjust Grid(Allows adjustments for the entire grid)
- Adjust Row(Allows adjustments for the selected row).
- Adjust Column(Allows adjustments for the selected column).
- Adjust Cell(Allows adjustments for the individual cell).
A Value Adjustment box is now displayed. The option buttons default to Set Value and cannot be amended. The required value adjustment is entered in this field. Either a percentage or a numeric value is entered dependent upon what selection is made in the Grid Action field.
The ExecuteCommand Button is now selected to update the appropriate variant maintenance tables with the new values.
