In addition to displaying the form name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.

Edit Profit Dialogue Box

The contract margin and profit values that are displayed here are the result of an interplay between two distinct fields. The following fields are displayed:

The top-level default margin is set up within the Quotations Defaults Tab in System Maintenance /System Parameters. This can be overridden at customer level (see the Fleet Details Command Button within the Company Tab in the Marketing module). Finally, the margin can also be edited at a quotation level within this form.

Profit can be expressed in a number of different ways. A switch is set within the Calculation Details Tab in System Maintenance / System Parameters to determine which profit calculation method is used; currently available methods are as follows:

M Monthly Value

T %age of Total Costs (inc. Total Overhead)

B %age of Basic Price

D %age of Discounted Basic Price

F Finance Profit

O %age of OTR

P %age of Funded Capital * Period

Within the CRM Fleet defaults form a monthly profit value (e.g. #pound 20.00) may be entered against a specific company record. This value defaults to within this field. The system then works out the Margin by recalculating backwards. If a value is not present within the CRM fleet defaults then the system simply uses the normal system Margin.

Note: A monthly value profit may also be set at a global level. This is done by setting Monthly Profit within the Profit field in the Calculation Details Tab within System Parameters and then defining the Margin value in the Quotation Defaults Tab.

Note: If the Use Additional Profit checkbox is selected in the Calculation Details Tab of System Parameters then Additional and Total lines are displayed within this form to allow entry of additional profit/margin as well as the standard contract profit/margin and also display the total profit values.

The Margin and Profit fields interact and the resultant quoted profit for the quotation becomes part of the rental calculation and is displayed in the Edit Contract Margin and Profit box. It is displayed as a monetary value.

Command Buttons

The Command Buttons in the Edit Contract Margin and Profit form function as follows:

On display of the Edit Margin and Contract Profit box, the existing contract profit value is highlighted and can be immediately overridden by entering a new value. This button saves an amendment and returns the new value to the primary Quotations form to recalculate the initial and regular rentals. The margin is also recalculated at this stage to reflect the increase/decrease in profit.

Returns to the primary Quotations form without saving any changes.
