Selection of the 
Review
icon directly to the right of the Residual Value field presents the Residual
Value Review form. This form is used to override the preferred supplier's imported
value by selecting and editing the required "Residual Value Source" and
vehicle-usage type to be used within the current quotation.
This form is split into five parts, which are as follows:
In addition to displaying the form name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.
The contents of the Residual Value Review menu bar are as follows:
Selection of the File menu presents two alternatives options:
- Cancel
Displays a pop-up box containing the message:
Cancelling this option will lose all changes made to the residual value. Are you sure you wish to continue?
Selecting Yes effects a return to the primary Quotation form without saving amendments. Selecting No or Cancel leaves the user in the current form.
- Exit
Returns to the primary Quotations form saving any amendments.
Presents an Audit option, which ultimately displays the Audit Event Log form.
Provides online access to a context sensitive Help form.
The contents of the full toolbar are as follows:
Exit returns to the primary Quotation form saving any data amendments.

This area displays a number of vehicle details and quotation criteria relating to the current quotation. The fields displayed are as follows:
Displays the full vehicle description imported from the default data source or (in the case of Vehicles which are created manually) the description which has been entered in the Franchise Data form.
Displays the basic price imported from the default data source.
Displays the vehicle model year imported from the default data source
Displays the age of the quoted contract (taken from the primary Quotations form) in months.
Displays the quoted annual contract mileage (taken from the primary Quotations form).
This is a List Box, which displays all of the available residual value "sources". The external data sources, which are currently available for import into the Kestrel system, are as follows:
- DHS
- CAP Monitor
For each data source the form displays the data supplier, residual value and residual value percentage (this is a percentage of the basic price). A default residual value source is selected with the Default RV Source field within the General Tab located in System Maintenance / System Parameters and the residual values are returned to the Quotations form from the appropriate source's tables. Within the Residual Value List Box a single-mouse-click selects an alternative data source (given that more than one source is available). The alternative supplier is highlighted in red and a white tick is placed against it
A double-mouse-click on an alternative supplier returns the appropriate residual value and residual value percentage to the primary Quotations form.
The bottom of the Residual Value List Box displays the average residual value and residual value percentage for the alternative data sources. If more than one external data source is available then this is a useful comparative tool to aid residual value selection.
Tip: A single-right-click of the mouse on the highlighted/ticked data source displays a pop-up Table box. A single-left-click of the Table box reveals the residual value table, for the selected vehicle variant, from which the residual value has been calculated. This is for reference purposes only. Selection of the Exit icon effects a return the Residual Value Review form.
