Selection of the Products Tab from the primary Ratesbooks form enables the selection of one or more available Product Types for use within the current ratesbook. Default Product Types( from either a global or customer level) are invoked and displayed if applicable. In addition, a number of icons are displayed for the purpose of manipulating the confirmed Product Types.
Selection of the Products Tab presents two list boxes, the functions of which are described below:
The first list box displays all of the available Product Types that have been set up within Miscellaneous Options / Product Management / Product Details.
Each Product Type record line displays three fields:
The first field displays the Product Code (a user-defined field, containing up to 6 characters, which typically displays an abbreviated product description e.g. CHWM).
The second field displays the Product Description which typically displays an expanded textual description for the selected Product Type e.g. Contract Hire With Maintenance.
The third field displays the calculation basis for the selected Product Type e.g. CH for "Contract Hire".
A double-click of the mouse highlights and selects the appropriate Product Type for use within the ratesbook quotation by transferring it to the Product Confirmation List Box. More than one Product Type can be selected for use within the ratesbook.
A top-level default Product Type can be set-up within the Product (Cars)/Product (Comms) fields contained in the Ratesbooks Defaults Tab located in System Maintenance / System Parameters. The top-level default product can be overridden by setting up a default value at customer level (accessed by way of the Fleet Details command button within the Companies Tab held within the Marketing module).
As its name suggests, this second list box confirms the Product Type selection(s) made in the Product Selections List Box. More than one Product Type can be utilised within the ratesbook quotation and all of the selected products are confirmed by being displayed in this area. The Product Code and Product Description fields are displayed for each confirmed product. If a default Product Type has been defined, at either top-level or customer level, it is automatically displayed within the list box.
A right click of the mouse on a confirmed product presents a pop-up selection box which presents the same functionality as the icons below.
To the right of the two list boxes a number of icons are displayed for the purpose of manipulating the confirmed Product Types. These icons are greyed-out until a confirmed Product Type has been selected with the mouse. Currently available icons are as follows:
The Move Up icon moves the selected Product Type to a higher position within the Product Confirmation List Box. The position of the Product Type within the List Box determines the order in which the products are displayed within the Output Tab and subsequent hard copy listings, etc.
The Move Down icon moves the selected Product Type to a lower position within the Product Confirmation List Box. The position of the Product Type within the List Box determines the order in which the products are displayed within the Output Tab and subsequent hard copy listings, etc.
The Delete icon deletes the selected Product Type from the Product Confirmation List Box and returns it to the Product Selection List Box.
Selection of the Product Review icon displays the Product Review form. This form displays the Product Options for the selected product and the respective default Cover Types. For each product option all available cover types are displayed in a sub-form and the required selections are made for the ratesbook quotation.
