VALIDATE DATABASE

Overview

The Validate Database screen is accessed via Fleet System Management / System Maintenance / Validate Database .

This is similar to the Purge Old Quotes option except that none of the records are purged. Most of the files on the system are checked and the number of records which can be purged are notified on the screen.  The integrity of all records, and their links with other records is also be examined and verified. The system provides a print of all of the records which can be purged from the files.

Title Bar

In addition to displaying the screen name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.

Command Buttons

A number of command buttons are available:

Runs the validation routine and at the end of the run displays the number of records which could be purged. The following sub-menu is displayed:

The system provides a print of all of the records which can be purged from the files, along with a reason for purging the item. The print can be studied before the Purge Database option is run.

Provides a print of all of the records which could be purged, but the level of detail about each record is not quite so detailed as the full print. A particular difference is that only the system master number and deletion reason for each record is printed. On the full print cross reference registration numbers and user ID's and dates are also given. 

Cancels the menu options and returns to the System Maintenance Menu .

Provides online access to a context sensitive Help screen.
