Use this option on the System Maintenance Menu to pre-define default values for the data fields on every Asset Record on the Register. You can pre-define values for as many data fields as you wish. The defaults entry that you input to any particular data field may be of any value, provided that it is one that may validly be input to that particular field.
The result of using the Asset defaults option is that when you subsequently create a new Asset Record on the Register, those fields for which you have defined default values will already be 'filled'. This then minimizes data entry. In the case of any particular Asset Record, however, you may overwrite the default value if it is not appropriate for the Record.
Typically, the Asset defaults option is run at installation stage and the appropriate pre-set values are inserted to certain data fields in accordance with your company's requirements. Subsequently, these default values may be amended by the System Manager, as required.
The option is similar in operation to Add or modify assets, with the following difference. You are not prompted to specify a particular Asset Class or Item Number, as the amendments made will apply to all new Asset Records created within all Classes on the Register.

From the Autoline Master menu, select the Asset Register option and the company you require.
