Selection of Manufacturers Warranty Matrix (accessed via Maintenance Control / Miscellaneous Options) presents the Manufacturers Warranty Matrix form. This form is utilised to hold negotiated warranty discounts for specific manufacturers. For pre-defined mileage/age milestones the leasing/hire company negotiate the percentage of the warranty value that they can reclaim back from the manufacturer. These values are entered into the Mileage/Age Setup Grid. When an approval is created the system establishes the Registration Date of the vehicle and cross-references this with the Repaired date and current Odometer reading. The system therefore knows the age and mileage of the vehicle and cross-references this data against the Mileage/Age Setup Grid and establishes what percentage of the full warranty value can be reclaimed of the manufacturer for any warranty item within the approval. For example, if the warranty approval item parts and labour cost came to a total of £ 1000 and, the system establishes from the Mileage/Age Setup Grid that the warranty reclaim percentage is 70%, then £ 700 is suntracted from the value of the approval. The leasing/hire company pay the repairer £ 300 and the remaining £ 700 of warranty work can by directly reclaimed by the repairer from the manufacturer.
