System Parameters and Controls

This parameter table is used for the background setup for a part of the FRV Revaluation processes used during the write down facility routine.

To access the System Parameters and Controls:

1. From the Master Menu, select the Manufacturer Systems option and Company required e.g. Fleet.

   The Fleet Franchise Menu is displayed.

2. Select the System Parameters and Controls option.

   The System Parameters and Controls form is displayed.

System Parameters and Controls form

The System Parameters and Controls form is displayed when the System Parameters and Controls option is selected from the Fleet Franchise Menu.

The Amend option is covered below, during which the content of each of the fields held against the System Parameters and Controls table are explained.

Inhibit Stock Value Increase: A checkbox which, if ticked, denotes that during revaluations on the quarterly mark to market, at no point in time can any vehicle in used car stock be re-valued and the NBV be written upwards. In this situation where a revaluation shows that the vehicle has a value greater than the NBV, the NBV would remain unchanged.

Note: This parameter is called if manufacturer systems is set to fleet.

The Write Down Facility should be accessed from VSB Miscellaneous Options. When opening this form the system validates the hire group vehicle category (FM.motor.VEHCAT) for each vehicle and look up to the new Mark To Market CAP Valuation file (FC.capva.VCAT). On finding a match the CAP valuation for the vehicle is reduced by the VSB reduction in CAP value % safety factor percentage (FC.capva.SAFEFACV). The reduced CAP value is displayed in the grid.

To perform the write down, right-click on one of the grid lines and the message Mark all valid vehicles for write down is displayed. When this option is taken the system looks back to this field (BS.capva.INHIBITSI) and, if it is ticked, the system does not increase any of the stock values. The only change in the stock value will be lower. If the CAP value (adjusted by the FC.capva.SAFEFACV %) is higher than the current stock value then the system does not revalue that stock.

COMMAND BUTTONS:

Exit: Returns to the Fleet Franchise menu.

Save: Saves the System Parameters and Controls table.

Cancel: Aborts the amendment process and returns to the initial menu without saving amendments to the System Parameters and Controls table.
