The Control Defaults set-up form is used by KCC to define (at set-up) the default limits to be applied to various functions within the Fleet System Management module at a global level. The default limits may be overridden by the customer within System Maintenance / System Controls at company level if necessary.
This is a mandatory file.
The form is split into four areas which are as follows:
In addition to displaying the form name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.
The top of this dialogue box displays the following details:
Module Identifier: Displays the code for the module that is currently being accessed i.e. FM (Fleet System Management).
Company Identifier: Displays the company number for the company that is currently being accessed e.g. 00.
This area beneath contains the following data:
Next Master Number: The next unique sequential agreement number to be automatically generated by the system.
Next Vehicle Magic: The next unique sequential vehicle record number to be automatically generated by the system.
Next Address Number: The next unique sequential address group number to be automatically generated by the system. This is a unique number that is usually "hidden" behind the address group code.
Credit Check: A check box which, if ticked, acts as a control for the entire fleet system and ensures that every time a vehicle record is accessed the system automatically performs a credit check and verifies whether the associated account is on stop.
A message is generated for each account to which the vehicle is linked.
Check Sales Bids: Sales bids are created and held within the Terminations module when the vehicle is in the process of being sold.
This is a checkbox which, if ticked, ensures that if a sales bid is currently held against a vehicle then when the Maintenance Control module is accessed that the Sales Bid Tab is the default tab upon entry to the form. This brings to the attention of the maintenance controller that the vehicle is in the process of being sold and may assist in the prevention of any dubious maintenance transactions.
Check Mileage: A check box which, if ticked, displays a Contract Mileage Exceeded message within Maintenance Control if the current odometer reading is greater than the contract mileage value.
Next fuel card magic: The next unique sequential fuel card number to be automatically generated by the system.
Command Buttons:
A number of command buttons are available. Some buttons are context sensitive and are greyed-out and only become available dependent upon the particular process that is being accessed. The full list of command buttons is as follows:
Exit: Returns to the System Maintenance menu.
Help: Provides online access to context sensitive help for the current application using the default browser.
Save: Saves the new values for the system parameters.
Cancel: Cancels the amendment process and returns to the System Maintenance menu.
