The Internet submission parameters option is a part of the internet submission system, the Internet submission parameters option will only appear on the PR SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu if either the End of Year returns via internet system parameter is ticked or the In year movements via the internet system parameter is ticked on set up by an Autoline consultant and you are a priority 8+ user.
The main function of the Internet submission parameters option is to allow for the set up of parameters for each PAYE reference as required for Internet End of Year Returns.

Standard functionality exists that allows you to maintain records.
The Internet submission parameters must be set up in order for the Internet EOY return test and live submission or Internet in year live submissions to occur. A live user id and password may be entered even when a test submission is being performed since the submission options detect from the menu selection whether or not to use a test or live user id and password.
There are six TABs to an internet parameter record.
The uniqueness to each Internet submission parameter record is created by a combination of the tax office and reference and tax year.

Up to 65535 seconds of total poll time may be set before a time out is reached due to inactivity at the Government Gateway. A minimum poll time is advised within a returned message from the Government gateway. For 2005-2006 and future years HM Revenus & Customs have requested that the minimum polling time be set to 30 seconds even if the Government Gateway messages advise the minimum polling time is 10 seconds. The internet options that send poll messages will keep increasing the poll time by 200% until either a successful reply has been received or the maximum poll interval has been reached. Five minutes = 300 seconds is recommended although under testing 100 seconds has worked.
Stunnel IP address: Stunnel is a commercial freeware product that provides a 128 bit Secure Socket layer (SSL) used to encrypt the data. Server based installations are the preferred option and are set up by the Technical Support Department.
Socket write delay (milliseconds): Up to a 255 millisecond delay may be inserted between every XML information line that is sent to the Government Gateway, tests have shown that the communication may fail if the application runs too fast and that a delay as small as 1-10 milliseconds is sufficient. Leaving this as 0 will result in no delay.
