This option assists in the speed of cost centre file maintenance, for example when a group of cost centres change their reporting structure. Rather than change the mask on each cost centre affected a global update tool is used.
Warning: Due to the structure of the cost centre file, use this routine with care.
To update cost centres globally:
From the Master menu select the Management accounts option and the company you require
The MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTS menu is displayed.
Select the System maintenance option
The MA SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu is displayed.
Select the Cost centre global maintenance option
The Cost Centres form is displayed.
The Cost Centres form is displayed, when the Cost Centre Global Maintenance option is selected from the SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu.
Tip : To view the form in Column format, simply click on the Column button.
Warning: Because of the structure of the cost centre file this routine must be used with caution.
Fields:
Cost centre: The cost centre code from the cost centre file.
Description: Details of what the cost centre is used for.
Short name: An abbreviated version of the description e.g. Mechanical - MECH.
Analysis: The analysis code for the cost centre.
Hierarchy: The management Account hierarchy code.
Division: The accounting division that the cost centre relates to.
PUSH BUTTONS:
Exit : Returns you to the SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu.
Help : Displays help on the current application using the default browser.
