Note: For instructions on using the other tabs and shortcuts on this form please see the Introduction to My Desktop section.
The My Customers tab provides access to a list of the user's customers as defined by the user ID included as the Contact Executive for a Department in each customer's record. A customer may appear in other user's lists because the system allows multiple Departments.
Clicking on a customer line or business card loads that customer's record. To return, click the My CRM icon in the CRM Shortcuts panel.
The list of customers can be manipulated as follows:
To switch between display styles, use the large icons in the top-left corner of the tab:
Icon Description Displays customers with their details presented in a grid. The preferred telephone number, if defined, is highlighted in blue. This is the default style. Displays customers with their details presented in the style of business cards. This option has the advantage of displaying the date on which each customer was last contacted, however, there is less overall detail than in grid format.
To change the order in which customers are displayed, select an option from the Sort by field:
To filter by pre-set selection criteria, created using Report Generator functions in the Reports and Enquiries menu, select a report from the Selection Criteria field.
Note: For information on creating custom reports/filters, see the Define Report page of the Report Generator section.
To jump to the first record that begins with a certain letter or number, use the shortcut buttons to the right of the customer list. Click once to select the first record that matches the first character represented by the button, and click again to move on the next character. For example, clicking the 'M-N' button once jumps to the first customer beginning with the letter 'M' and clicking a second time jumps to the first customer beginning with the letter 'N'.
Note: The behaviour of the shortcut buttons is dependent on the option selected in the Sort by field. For example, if the customer list is sorted by First Name, clicking on the 'S-T' button would help locate the customer 'Sally Jones' and not the customer 'John Smith'.
