This option allows you to check that the links a vehicle has to customer, company and vehicle stock book records are valid and correct. This option will only verify links that are current links (ie if there is a previous link to a customer or company these will not be verified). As each group of links is checked you will be given the option to delete them.
This form is displayed when you select the Verify vehicle links option from the CRM system maintenance menu.
The form is divided into two main areas the first area on the form simply enables you to enter the vehicle magic number for which you want to verify the links.
Tip: There is no search facility in the form that enables you to search for the vehicle that you want to verify so it is important that you check this in record maintenance before entering this option
The second area is in grid form where the link details are displayed.
There are five buttons which appear on the form three of which will not be available until a valid vehicle record number is entered.
Once you have typed in the vehicle magic you are checking and tabbed off the field the grid will then be titled customer links and the vehicle to customer links will be displayed. The text under the grid will advise you if the links verify or are corrupt followed by the question Do you wish to delete any of these links?. If you do wish to delete any of the links click the Yes button and select the required links. For a fuller explanation of how to delete the links see the selecting links for deletion section.
Note: Once the vehicle record number has been entered, the form will show first of all the customer record links and advise whether any of them are corrupt. If there is any corruption, you will be asked at the foot of the form whether you wish to re-build the index links with the alternative button options of Yes and No.
Once you have deleted any links that you wanted to delete you will be returned to the verify vehicle links form you need to click the No button in order to move to the next set of links.
Note: If there are no links between the vehicle and the record type currently being shown you will not be given a No button. In these circumstances to move onto the next set of links click on the next button
On clicking the No button the title of the grid will change to Company links again you will be advised if the links verify or if they are corrupt and asked if you wish to delete any of the links the company links the system found for that vehicle. Deletion of the links is preformed in the same way as for the customer links for a fuller explanation of how to delete the links see the selecting links for deletion section.
Having completed the removal of any company links you can move onto the vehicles Vehicle Stock book links by pressing the No button. The grid title will change to SB links. The description column on the grid will include details of the vehicle stock book links. If the process has identified a problem with the links you will be given the option to delete them this can be done by clicking the yes button. If the process finds the vehicle to vs links to verify you will not be given the option to delete them.
Warning:Pressing the Yes button will delete the links with out asking for confirmation that this is the action you want to take.
After clicking the yes button you will be present with a possible links list which allows you to select the links you wish to delete. To make a selection you need to click on a listed item which will then highlight it (this process is called toggling). To remove any of the selected items from the list simply click on it again to remove the highlighting. Once you are happy with the selected items click the Yes button to remove these links or click Cancel to return to the verify vehicle links form.
Note: when you return to the verify vehicle links form the link you have deleted will remain in the grid but it will have been removed from the vehicle record.
