Category Properties Form

This form is displayed when you click View or Amend with an item category selected on the Categories tab on the Fastfit Reporting Options form. It enables you to view and amend the properties for an item category.

Properties:

Category code: Unique code to identify the category, between one and three characters long (read-only).

Description: Describes the category.

Confirm quantity: If this check box is ticked, the user is prompted to confirm the quantity of units fitted.

Tyre category: If this check box is ticked, the category relates to a tyre job.

Tyre discounts:

Note: This group box becomes available if Tyre category is selected.

If the retail price is different from the selling price, you can choose to show this difference as a discount. If you do not do this, the retail price will be the same as the selling price to avoid a discrepancy. This affects only the values recorded in Fastfit Reporting, not the values posted to Nominal Ledger.

Show discount: If this check box is ticked, any discrepancy between the retail price and selling price is shown as a discount.

Mapping:

You can enter up to five part franchise codes for the category. For example, if tyre stock is assigned the part franchise code TY, whenever a TY franchise part is sold, the category will automatically be set to Tyres.

Additional mapping and posting manipulation:

Parts analysis code: Parts analysis code for this category. It is used in the same way as the Part franchise code for assessing the product category, and also for manipulating the postings of parts lines. For example, in the case of a tyre category all tyres will have their parts analysis code changed at the point of invoicing.

Fastfit labour rate code: Labour rate code for this category, selectable by clicking the drop-down arrow button. It is used for assessing the labour line category, and also for manipulating the postings of labour lines.

Fixed items:

When assigning a category to a part or labour line in Point-of-Sale, you can define the line as always belonging to the chosen category, so that next time the code is invoiced, there will be no need for you to categorise the line.

Type: Either Part EditCausalPart.gif or Labour. TotalOfAllClocking.gif

Code: Code identifying the part or labour line.

Description: Describes the part or labour line.

Fixed items group buttons:

Add: Displays a Fixed Items form enabling you to add a new part or labour item to the fixed items table. You can click the ellipsis button on the form to view a list of Stock file or Price file parts or a list of ADP standard or Manufacturer specific labour items.

Delete: Enables you to delete the selected item in the fixed items table from this category.

Category: Enables you to move the selected item in the fixed items table to another category.

Buttons:

OK: Returns you to the Categories tab on the Fastfit Reporting Options form, with any changes you made to the category properties saved.

Cancel: Returns you to the Categories tab on the Fastfit Reporting Options form, with any changes you made to the category properties abandoned.

Amend: Enables you to amend the category properties (available if you displayed the Category Properties form by clicking View on the Categories tab).
