Naming the record and entering its description is part of the process of creating or cloning a new file transfer record.
To name a new file transfer record:
This is part of the process of creating a new file transfer record and of cloning a new file transfer record in the File Transfer Editor form.
Enter the Record ID and Description in the New Record Name form and click OK. Do not include the company number in the Record ID because that is changeable in the File Transfer Editor.
Tip: Click the ellipsis button to select from a list of standard record IDs, the Description field also being automatically completed.
You are returned to the File Transfer Editor form, its File transfer record ID and Description fields modified appropriately and its other fields ready for you to edit if required.
This form is displayed when you select File > Create new record or File > Clone Record from the menu bar or you click the Create new record toolbar button or the Clone a new record from the selected record toolbar button
on the File Transfer Editor form. It enables you to create a file transfer record ID and add its Description.
Record ID: Identifies the file transfer record (maximum 25 characters). If you want to add a company number to make it company specific, limit the ID to 22 characters as the company number will occupy the last three characters.
Tip: Click the Record ID ellipsis button
to select from a list of standard IDs.
Description: Purpose of the transfer record, for example Accounts composite extract.
Buttons:
Set/edit company...: If you require the company to be set to anything other than Point-of-Sale (SO), clicking this button enables you to set, remove or edit the details of the Autoline company to which the transfer record relates.
OK: Returns you to the File Transfer Editor form, keeping the new record name and description.
Cancel: Returns you to the File Transfer Editor form, ignoring any changes you made to the record name and description.
