If you receive price file, supersession or labour code data from the Data & Software Integration (DASI) department at ADP Dealer Services UK Ltd via Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), you normally receive an E-Mail advising that the data has been sent. When you receive this notification, you must update the Autoline system.
The notification contains instructions on how to perform the update. The procedure that you are advised to follow depends on whether you receive converted or raw (source) data. In the majority of cases, DASI issue converted data to the dealerships which is normally uploaded via ISDN. However, for some franchises, DASI issue raw (source) data. If you receive raw data, you are normally required to upload the data via ISDN and then convert it via the Price file setup option.
There are two ways of uploading a data file via ISDN. You can upload price or supersession files via the Load new pricefile (ISDN) option on the MASTER PARTS PRICE FILE MENU. Alternatively, you can upload price, supersession or labour code files via the Load new files (ISDN) option on the General utilities > System maintenance menu.
Note: If your manufacturer does not supply a supersession file, you can build a supersession chain if superseding part numbers are stored on your price file.
To upload a new price or supersession file via ISDN (Option 1):
From the OPERATIONS menu, select the Parts price file menu option.
The MASTER PARTS PRICE FILE MENU is displayed.
Select the Load new pricefile (ISDN) option.
The Upload Data File via ISDN form is displayed.
Click the Load button.
The file is moved and uncompressed on your Autoline system.
Note: If the upload fails, speak to your Systems Administrator in the first instance.
Click Exit.
You are returned to the MASTER PARTS PRICE FILE MENU.
If you are supplied with raw price data, you must now convert the data. To do this, select the Price file setup option, and follow the procedure on Converting Price Data Files. If you receive converted data, you are not required to take this step, and can proceed to the next step.
If you uploaded a price file, you must update the stock file with these changes. Do this for all stock companies used by your franchise.
To make the changes effective on your system, it is recommended that all users log out and then log back in.
To upload a new data file via ISDN (Option 2):
From the OPERATIONS menu, select the General utilities option.
The MS UTILITIES MENU is displayed.
Select the System maintenance option.
The System maintenance menu is displayed.
Select the Load new files (ISDN) option.
The Upload Data File via ISDN form is displayed.
Click the Load button.
The file is moved and uncompressed on your Autoline system.
Note: If the upload fails, speak to your Systems Administrator in the first instance.
Click Exit.
You are returned to the System maintenance menu.
