The Ford REACT software extracts Point of Sale (POS) and Vehicle Stock Book (VSB) invoices on a daily basis and sends them to Ford via the BCM server. This new software replaces the original POLK extract. Ford REACT uses Generic Data Extract (GDX) as the main interface with the Ford specifics built into the GDX overlay (MS/00EXP). It also relies on Generic File Transfer (GFT) as the method of copying the final file to the BCM server.
The extract file is written in EDIFACT format so the software also comes with a basic EDIFACT viewer built in. This is for ADP use only and shows each record that has been included in the last extract. In addition, you can select a record to give a further breakdown of EDIFACT segments and data. Segments components (fields) are displayed in the bottom section of the form. At present, there is no search facility. This will be included at a later date.
Note: It is important to note that the daily extract will send transactions for the previous day's trading (yesterday) not the current day (today).
Apart from the initial set-up and parameter changes, you should not need to run REACT yourself as the software runs automatically on a daily basis. However, it may be sometimes necessary to re-send a previous extract. It is important to note that the daily extract will send transactions for the previous day's trading (yesterday) not the current day (today).
Once the extract has completed, the file will automatically be sent to the Ford BCM gateway where it will be picked up and processed.
