If there are any manufacturer-recommended parts that you do not stock, the system allows you to use preferred parts. In order to do this, you must map the part recommended by the manufacturer to the preferred part.
What do you want to do?
The Preferred Part Mapping form is displayed when you select the Create, Amend or Delete option from the pop-up menu on the Preferred parts tab of the Service Menu Pricing Setup form. Within this form, searches are available to help you map a part recommended by the manufacturer to a preferred part.
Original Part Number: The part number recommended by the manufacturer.
Note: The original part number must exist on the price file.
Dealer preferred part: The part number used by the dealership.
RADIO BUTTONS
Stock file: Used with the search facility. Tells the system to search for a part on the stock file.
Price file: Used with the search facility. Tells the system to search for a part on the price file.
PUSH BUTTONS
Create: This button is only displayed in Create mode. It maps the part recommended by the manufacturer to the preferred part.
Save: This button is only displayed in Amend mode. It saves any changes to the record.
Delete: This button is only displayed in Delete mode. It deletes the record.
Cancel: Cancels the operation and returns you to the Preferred parts tab.
Help: Displays help on the current application using the default browser.
To create preferred part mapping:
The Menu pricing maintenance menu is displayed.
If there is more than one Point-of-Sale (SO) company, the system prompts you for the SO company.
The Service Menu Pricing Setup form is displayed.
The Preferred Part Mapping form is displayed.
Tip: Alternatively, select the required search option and click the Ellipsis button [...] to search for a part from either the stock file or the price file.

The mapping is created.
To amend preferred part mapping:
The Menu pricing maintenance menu is displayed.
If there is more than one Point-of-Sale (SO) company, the system prompts you for the SO company.
The Service Menu Pricing Setup form is displayed.
The Preferred Part Mapping form is displayed.

The changes are saved.
To delete preferred part mapping:
The Menu pricing maintenance menu is displayed.
If there is more than one Point-of-Sale (SO) company, the system prompts you for the SO company.

The Preferred Part Mapping form is displayed.
The record is deleted.
