A new version of the Ford Service Menu Pricing software has been developed to run as an integral part of the Point-of-Sale (POS)/Menu Pricing system for both Service and Rapid Fit departments. It uses Ford Fixed Content Jobs (FCJ) codes, and allows the creation of estimates, job cards and invoices, providing a quick and easy way of loading regularly performed jobs onto a Work-in-Progress (WIP) record. The menu prices are calculated at the point of selection in POS based upon the current retail price.
Note: Wherever the retail price is specified in this help system, it is defined as the current retail price of parts and labour, plus VAT. The labour value is based on the labour rate multiplied by the time allowed.
The menu pricing data is provided by Ford via the Corporate Dealer Systems (CDS) PC, and includes Rapidfit prices and Fleet National prices. The data is imported into the Autoline system and formatted into the appropriate databases. The data is available in both standard Point-of-Sale (POS) and Fastrack.
There is also a maintenance option that allows the dealer to create their own prices for a range of jobs. All these prices are available at Point-of-Sale.
Menu prices can be negotiated in terms of discount or price to pre-determined price levels and priority levels specified in the parameters.
Dealer fixed prices and promotions are normally maintained via Ford's own software, SmileTM, from where they are exported to the PC and imported to the Autoline system. These prices are again available in Point-of-Sale.
With Microcat® integration, it is also possible to select menu jobs in Microcat® and transfer them to Point-of-Sale, where a Menu Pricing negotiation screen is loaded for final price negotiation. However, because the full Ford FCJ file is held within the Autoline Ford Menu Pricing system, it is not anticipated that you have to go into Microcat® for a menu priced job alone.
Note: Before you can use the Service Menu Pricing interface in POS, you must ensure that the Autoline system is set up correctly.
The Menu pricing maintenance menu is displayed when you select the Menu pricing menu option from the FORD OPERATIONS menu. From this menu you can set up and maintain menu pricing on the Autoline system.
