The Surcharge Returns Tracking Menu is displayed when, on the Operations menu, you select the Surcharge returns menu option.
Displays the Surcharge Return Tracking Maintenance form, enabling creation, deletion and amendment of return labels. Extensive search facilities enable you to quickly find return label entries. If a manufacturer handles return labels by surcharge code rather than by part number an additional search window is displayed. A transfer facility enables you to move a surcharge part from one return label to another.
Displays the Surcharge Return Parameters form. There are a number of ways the system can be set up to handle the creation of return label information. It may in its simplest form be set to process only parts supplied from the main parts supplier. However, it is possible to cater for any franchises defined and for purchases from other suppliers apart from the main one.
Displays the record edit grid form enabling you to see surcharge return records sorted by the field of your choice.
Displays the record edit grid form. The mapfile can contain expiry date information based on supplier, part number, or surcharge code. (In the mass receipt facility the expiry date is, if possible, calculated from the mapping file).
This feature is for future use.
Displays the 'Surcharge Return Labels Near Expiry' report, detailing return labels approaching expiry. This report might be used to chase any customers, who have purchased one of the parts on the list, to return the old unit before the expiry time. The stock balance of new units is also displayed in case a dealer wishes to return the new unit for credit, ensuring he gets the surcharge back as well.
Displays the ignored return labels reporting facility. If a label is flagged as ignored it is included on the ignored labels report for investigation. If the label needs to be re-instated then the status can be reset in surcharge return tracking maintenance. If the label needs deleting use the delete facility in surcharge return tracking maintenance.
If a label has a blank expiry date it is included on the blank expiry date report for completion. Fill in the expiry date in surcharge return tracking maintenance.
Whenever an old unit surcharge part is returned via purchase control it is checked against the Autoline database to see if there is an outstanding and available label that can be used for its return. You can then select a returns label, the details of which are printed for the warehouse person responsible for returning the part.
