Loading and Unloading Data Files

The following routine shows you how to upload a data file from tape to the Autoline system and convert it to the correct format, or to download a file to tape.

Tip: You can upload parts data via the Price File Menu

To upload or download data from/to tape:

1. From the FORD OPERATIONS Menu, select the General utilities option.

   The MS UTILITIES MENU is displayed.

2. Select the Load/unload data file option.

   The system displays a list of available files.

3. Select the file that you want to upload or download.

   The system prompts you to select an item from the menu.

4. Do one of the following:
   • To download a file, select the Download-to-tape option.

   • To upload a file, select the Upload-from-tape option.

   The system prompts you to select an item from the menu.

5. Select the Continue option.

   When the system has uploaded or downloaded the file successfully, the following message is displayed:

   Done-OK

6. Click OK.

   Note: If the upload or download fails, speak to your Systems Administrator in the first instance in case there is a problem with your tape device. If there is no problem with the device, contact the distributor of the tape.
