Manually Sending an Urban Science Data Extract

Note: The Urban Science data extract is normally run as a timed operation and, therefore, this manual operation is not normally required.

To manually send an Urban Science data extract:

  1. From the Autoline Master menu, select Manufacturer systems and GM. Vauxhall.

    The GENERAL MOTORS OPERATIONS menu is displayed.

  2. Select the Urban Science menu option.

    The URBAN SCIENCE MENU is displayed.

  3. Select the Data extract option.

    If you have more than one Point-of-Sale company on your system, a Select Item From List (Select SO Company) menu is displayed, in which case select the appropriate company and click OK.

    The GM - [extract identifier] form is displayed.

  4. Complete the From and To dates and click Export.

    A Confirm Input dialog box is displayed containing the message:

    Run data export?

  5. Click Continue.

    The progress indicator shows the job's progress and, on completion, a Return box is displayed containing the message:

    Extract complete

  6. Click OK.

    You are returned to the GM - [extract identifier] form.

  7. Select File > Exit on the menu bar or click the Return to menu toolbar button Exit.gif

    You are returned to Autoline's URBAN SCIENCE MENU.

GM - [Extract Identifier] Form

This form is displayed when you select the Data extract option from Autoline's URBAN SCIENCE MENU. It enables you to extract data between specified dates and transmit it to Urban Science.

Export Tab

This tab is part of the GM - [extract identifier] form.

Comments: Purpose of the data extract, for example Extract point of sale information for statistical analysis

From: Date from which data is included in the extract

Tip: Click the From and To ellipsis buttons [...] to select dates from the electronic calendar.

To: Date to which data is included in the extract

Progress: Indicates how much of the data extract is complete as a proportion of the whole task after you click Export

Export Tab PUSH BUTTON:

Export: Extracts data for dates between From and To (inclusive) and transmits it to Urban Science

View Tab

This tab is part of the GM - [extract identifier] form.

Files: Export files belonging to [extract identifier]

Tip: Select an export file and click View to display the file's content in a text display form with a print facility.

Last run date: When the last data extract was carried out ( DD / MM / YYYY but without spaces)

Last userid: The Autoline login of the individual who last initiated a data extract

Instance: The number of times the extract has been run

View Tab PUSH BUTTONS:

View...: Displays the content of the export file selected in the Files box in a text display form with a print facility

Logfile...: Displays the content of the log file in a text display form, its data under headings Export definition, Export statistics, and File transfer
