In order to import a pre-order or order into Autoline, the particular pre-order or order must be located on Order Workbench. To retrieve the details of an order or pre-order use the search functions in the Pre-order or Order group of option buttons on the Action tab.
The import and update of an Order Workbench vehicle record into Autoline VSB is carried out from the Retrieved Data tab.
Altering the search criteria to retrieve records from OWB can simplify the import of records. For example, if five Vehicle orders were created yesterday and now need importing into Autoline, the order details can be retrieved using different search methods:
If the five vehicle orders were created with the same reference then searching by Reference Number would retrieve only the desired orders. This saves you from having to select the desired records manually from a potentially long list of order numbers.
Note: Supplying specific or narrow search criteria such as Reference Number also speeds up the response from the GME web service as less processing is involved.
When you have searched for a pre-order, the search results are displayed in a grid in the Retrieved Data tab. Right-click an entry in the grid for the following options:
View vehicle details: Displays a detailed view of all information for the selected pre-order.
View/Update Pre-Order: Launches the OWB edit pre-order web service.

Vehicles can be marked as a template to allow for other vehicles to be linked so that all vehicles are created with the same build and specification. To do this, right-click the grid line for the vehicle that is to become the template and choose Toggle template from the context menu. This displays a form prompting for the number of vehicles in the batch (including the current template vehicle). Enter the number of vehicles, press TAB and then click OK. The template vehicle is highlighted in blue text in the Pre-Order search results. If the selection was incorrect, to reverse this action, right-click the template and select Toggle template from the context menu.
Select this vehicle and click Update VSB. When this vehicle is created, it also reserves stockbook numbers for the remaining number of vehicles in the batch.
To link other vehicles to this template, select the records in the Pre-Order search results and click Link to template. This displays the number of templates available for the number of vehicles selected. Double-click the template to link to and click OK.
