GDX definitions define the characteristics of an extract. Standard functionality exists to create a set of parameters, or to amend, display or delete existing parameters.
To access GDX definitions:
The MS UTILITIES MENU is displayed.
The GENERIC DATA EXPORT MENU is displayed.
The GDX Definition form is displayed.
Tip: A list of valid GDX types is available from the drop-down menu.
The system defaults the details into the form.
The GDX Definition form is displayed when you select the GDX Definitions option from the GENERIC DATA EXPORT MENU. Within this form you can define the characteristics of an extract.
GDX type: A unique identifier for the extract. You can enter a maximum of ten characters.
About this export
Description: A description of the data extract. This description appears on the DAF Trucks extract form.
Comments: This message is displayed to users as a note on the DAF Trucks extract form.
Picture path: The location of the graphic that is displayed on the DAF Trucks extract form.
File details
Export directory: The directory on the Autoline system where extract files are created and stored.
Export filename:The file name on the Autoline system into which the data is extracted.
File match string: The search match string that dictates which files are displayed when you view an extract. The system searches the xfer directory for the first seven characters.
Ascii/Csv/Edi.: The file format used for writing the extract.
There are three options for this parameter setting:
- A: Ascii
- C: CSV Format
- E: Edifact
Write mode: If an existing file already exists what should the system do?
- O: overwrite an existing file.
- A: add new data to the end of an existing file.
Transfer type: A unique code that identifies the file transfer definition record. This is used when you transfer the extracted file from the Autoline system to DAF Trucks.
Default date flag: This flag defines the default extract date that the system should use.
Note: The parameter setting for Sales by sales code, Sales by family code and Service Schedule extracts must be X.
Backdata days: This is a numeric field that defines the default setting for the number of days between the start and the end date of the extract. DAF Trucks extracts do not require a date, so this field must be set to 0.
History
Last run date: The last date the extract was run.
For: The last Point-of-Sale company for which the extract was run.
By: The user ID of the person who ran the extract last.
Instance: The number of times the extract has been run.
Help: Displays help on the current application using the default browser.
