Stock profile preferences define the stock profiling fixed categories, cost/movement categories, assessment periods, weighting, minimum and maximum days of stock to be used as the basis for stock profiling.

Fixed Categories
Manual re-order categories: Defines the categories that are to be used for manual reordering.
New stock re-order category: Defines the category used to indicate that stock is new.
Obsolete re-order category: Defines the category used to indicate that stock is obsolete.
Supersede re-order category: Defines the category used to indicate that stock is superseded.
Cost/Movement Categories
HIGH value items cost at least: Sets the value of at which parts are deemed to be high value.(Cost)
MEDIUM value items cost at least: Sets the value of at which parts are deemed to be medium value.(Cost)
FAST movers percentage: Defines the percentage level (upto 20% max) at which stock is considered to be a fast mover. For example if set to 10%, then the top ten percent fastest selling stock will be categorised as being fast movers.
MEDIUM movers percentage: Defines the percentage level (upto 60% max) at which stock is considered to be a medium mover. For example if set to 60%, then the next sixty percent fastest selling stock will be categorised as being medium movers.
Note: The remaining stock will be categorised as slow moving.
Non-stock lines
Attempt to convert non-stock lines to stock: Tick the check box if you want to attempt the conversion of non-stock lines into stock lines.
Minimum movement in a period: The minimum number of movements within a period that must be achieved in order to qualify as a stock line.
Minimum hits of that movement: The minimum number of requests within a period that must be achieved in order to qualify as a stock line.
Periods to review hits: The number of period in which to analyse the number of hits.
Assessment Periods
Periods to remain new: The number of periods in which the parts category remains as N thereafter the system will attempt to set a new category if appropriate.
Periods to become excess: The number of periods in which the maximum stock level is exceeded.
Periods to become obsolete: The number of periods in which there have been no movement or requests.
Periods to delete: The period to delete lines with no stock that have no movements or requests.
Periods to review demand: The number of periods in which to analyse the demand for calculating average demand.
Activate approach with extreme caution!
Generate real live max/min levels: Clicking this button activates the Update
toolbar button within the main stock profile function.
Warning: The stock profile Update function maintains the stock categories of the stock file, once actioned the changes cannot be reversed.
Franchise: Defines the franchise to be used
Weighting methods
This area defines the methods to be use for movement weighting based upon the following criteria

In the above example
Fast: is assigned a weighting of 2 - Progressive.
Medium: is assigned a weighting of 3 - Agressive.
Slow: is assigned a weighting 4 - Most recent.
Minimum and Maximum days of stock
Fast moving / High value: Defines the Minimum and Maximum days of stock for the category.
Fast moving / Medium value: Defines the Minimum and Maximum days of stock for the category.
Fast moving / Low value: Defines the Minimum and Maximum days of stock for the category.
Medium moving / High value: Defines the Minimum and Maximum days of stock for the category.
Medium moving / Medium value: Defines the Minimum and Maximum days of stock for the category.
Medium moving / Low value: Defines the Minimum and Maximum days of stock for the category.
Slow moving / High value: Defines the Minimum and Maximum days of stock for the category.
Slow moving / Medium value: Defines the Minimum and Maximum days of stock for the category.
Slow moving / Low value: Defines the Minimum and Maximum days of stock for the category.
Clicking the Ellipsis button located next to the Franchise entry field displays a list of the available franchises.
Clicking the required franchise displays the Preferences Form populated with the selected franchise information.
Clicking the To All franchises toolbar button, apply's all of the changes made to the preferences to all of the stock profile franchises.
