Display Current Period

This option is covered in the more detailed online help regarding Accounting Periods.

Ending a Current Period and Advancing the Sales Ledger Period

The End current period option on the SL MISCELLANEOUS OPTIONS Menu performs the tasks which ensure the correct alignment of periods between the Sales Ledger and the Nominal Ledger at period ends.

Warning: Advancing the Sales Ledger period is an exclusive-access option. Access must be prevented to the Sales Ledger. If other users are in the Sales Ledger company for which you are trying to advance the period, Autoline does not allow you to continue.

Note: Prior to running the end of period, Accounting Periods should be consulted for more background information.

To end a period in Sales Ledger and advance the Sales Ledger period:

  1. From the Autoline Master Menu, select the Sales Ledger option and the Company you require.

The SALES LEDGER Main Menu is displayed.

  2. Select Miscellaneous options.

The SL MISCELLANEOUS OPTIONS menu is displayed.

  3. Select the End current period option.

The End Current SL Period form is displayed, and the Advance button is enabled.

  4. When you are sure you are ready, click Advance.

This advances the Sales Ledger period.

End Current SL Period Form

This form is displayed when you select Miscellaneous options from the SALES LEDGER Main Menu, then the End current period option. It enables you to end a period in the Sales Ledger and to advance the Sales Ledger period.

PUSH BUTTONS:

Exit: Returns you to the SL MISCELLANEOUS OPTIONS Menu

Help: Displays help on the current program using the default company browser

Advance: Advances the period

Warning: It is NOT possible to advance the period if there are any users accessing the module. (This is similar to the end of period for Nominal- and Purchase Ledger, and requires all other users to exit the module prior to the stand-alone user, to advance the current period.)
