The Inter Department Communication (IDC) function enables the creation of multi direction dialogs between departments, in order to agree parts availability / information exchange.

Details Area:
Department: Defines the department destination for the request.
Note: The default department is defined within the Inter Department Communication parameters.
- B: Bodyshop
- F: FastFit
- P: Parts
- W: Workshop
Priority: Defines the priority of the request
- VHC - Highest request priority - Automatically defined based upon WIP line content.
- H - High priority
- M - Medium priority
- L - Low priority
Note: The default priority is defined within the Inter Department Communication parameters.
Dates Area:
Note: The Dates within this area are pre-calculated based upon the planned repair date of the associated WIP and Inter Department Communication parameters
Repair date: Specifies the date that the repair is to be actioned.
Supply date: Specifies the date that the parts are required, this date is calculated based upon the WIP repair date and Inter Department Communication parameters > Days to supply.
Confirm date: Specifies the date that confirmation of parts supply is required and is calculated based upon the WIP repair date and Inter Department Communication parameters > Days to confirm.
To create an Inter Department Communication request:
Clicking the Create toolbar button creates the Inter Department Communication request associated with the current / recently saved WIP.
To change the request department:
Click the Drop Down button located next to the Department entry field to display a list of the available departments.
Clicking a department from the displayed list populates the Inter Department Communication request creation form's department entry field.
To change the request priority:
Click the Drop Down button located next to the priority entry field to display a list of the available priorities.
Clicking a priority from the displayed list populates the Inter Department Communication request creation form's priority entry field.
Note: If the associated WIP contains VHC the priority is automatically set to VHC priority and can not be changed using this function.
