Inter Department Communication (IDC)- Messages

In order to agree parts availability / information exchange the Inter Department Communication (IDC) function enables the creation of multi direction dialogs between departments. The messages element of the request allows users to record free text dialogue messages which can be viewed from within the request.

Inter Department Communication (IDC)- Messages Form

This form is displayed when you:

Click Point-of -Sale > Point-of-Sale > Create a WIP and select Save > Request creation > Messages
Click Point-of -Sale > Point-of-Sale > Links > Inter Department Communication > Request review > Notes .

Menu Bar and Toolbar:

Menu bar	Toolbar	Action
File > Exit		Exit the Inter Department Communication messages function.
File > Save		Saves the entered message to the Inter Department Communication request.

Help > Help		Displays this Inter Department Communication Messages Help topic in a web browser.

History Area:

This area contains a list of the messages that have been created for the associated request, each message record contains.

User id: Displays the ID of the user that created the message.
Message creation date Displays the date the message was created.
Message creation time Displays the time the message was created.
Message Text Displays the free text message entered.

Insert Message Area:

This area enables the entry of free format message text in relation to the Inter Department Communication request.

Insert a message

Enter the required text into the Insert Message Area.

Save a message

To send a message to the Inter Department Communication request:

Clicking the Save toolbar button, this saves the entered free message text to the Inter Department Communication request.

Expand the view of a message

To expand the view of a message:

Clicking the required message from within the message history area displays the Inter Department Communication Message detail form.

This form is displayed when you

Double click Point-of -Sale > Point-of-Sale > Create a WIP and select Save > Request creation > Messages message within the message history area.
Click Point-of -Sale > Point-of-Sale > Links > Inter Department Communication > Request review > Notes .

Message Detail Area:

This area contains the complete message as entered by the user.
