The Parts locator software generates a list of parts that meet a set of standards, designed to identify slow moving and obsolete parts for analysis by General Motors. The creation of the list of parts is a procedure that you must perform manually.
Note: To uphold the accuracy of the data produced, the parts locator must be run in weekly intervals.
When you have successfully produced a list of parts, you can transmit the parts locator file to General Motors or alternatively download the file to the PC (depending on the GM Dealer Communications System (DCS) set-up). The Autoline system automatically determines the method of transfer, based on the the set up of the parameters.
Before you can generate a parts locator file, you must ensure that the Autoline system is set up correctly. This is normally carried out by, or on advice from, a consultant.
