Dialogys is a Parts and Service technical information service provided by Renault. This interface provides integration between Dialogys and Autoline's Point-of-Sale module. The interface, which works with the INFO 2000 version of Dialogys, allows a technician or parts user in a Renault dealership to retrieve vehicle information electronically from Autoline. It facilitates the identification and selection of parts from Dialogys and the subsequent transfer of parts back to a repair order (Work-In-Progress) in Autoline.
Note: This documentation assumes that you are familiar with standard, Point-of-Sale functionality.
To ensure that Autoline and Dialogys communicate effectively with each other, interpret each other's commands and process requests in a timely and efficient manner, the program listens on a specific port for Dialogys operation codes. The Listener performs certain operations depending on the commands supplied by Dialogys. The Dialogys Listener is a daemon program that operates in background and can either be started manually, or automatically controlled by Autoline to start and stop at set times of the day. There is no interaction between the Dialogys Listener and DMS users.
Where multiple dealers share a common Dealer Management System, a separate Dialogys server is required for each dealership.
Note: Dialogys Integration will run on Renault Net personal computers (PCs) in future. Users who wish to continue using Apple Macintoshes should approach either their usual Renault manufacturer contact or the Renault Information Systems Group Office, for advice.
Before you use the program, you must ensure that the Autoline system is set up correctly. This is normally carried out by, or on advice from, an Autoline consultant.
