Set-up

Set-up is initially carried out by, or on advice from, a consultant during system installation.

Dialogys Parameter records for each Point-of-Sale company running Dialogys should be set up. Dialogys Listener daemons should then be started. If they fail to start, run them in Foreground. After they are all started, stop them. Select Start all daemons from the Daemon Monitor/Notify all daemons, to test.

Warning: Daemon parameters in the Kerridge Utilities menu should not be amended once correctly set. Ensure that the daemon parameter file RE.MS.dmnpa has sufficient space for one, additional record.

Three new Timed Operations must be set up in the End-of-Day chain.

Where multiple dealers share a common Dealer Management System, a separate Dialogys server is required for each dealership. A separate Daemon Listener is required for each Dialogys server. The Listener interprets data received on a specific port on a FIFO basis.

Where there are multiple locations for a single dealership, and there are separate Dialogys servers for each of these locations, each server must be configured to point to the same Internet Protocol address and port number on the Dealer Management System, so that a single Listener can control all the Dialogys integration requirements for a single dealer.
