Explanation of New Filenames
The Renault DCS system requires long file names that describe the
file, its source dealership and country of origin. Kermit cannot handle file names of more than 8.3 characters. Hence a new file transfer utility is required.
The files required by the DCS system are placed in a directory
C:\DCS-REPOSITORY\OUT and are of the following format :
AAABBBB.PAR.STK.000BBBBB.XXXX
Where:
- AAA is the sender's country code.
Note: 826 is the code for
the United Kingdom.
- BBBBB is the sending dealerships dealer code.
- PAR is the module to which the file is applicable (in this
case parts) as defined by Renault.
Note: WAR is the code for warranty claims.
- STK is the type of file being sent (in this case a stock
order) as defined by Renault.
Note: CLA is the code for warranty claims.
- 000 is the country code of a sub dealer for which the file is being sent. 000 implies the same country as the main dealer. This
field is more for use in mainland Europe and is unlikely to be
required in the UK.
- BBBBB is the dealer code of the dealer for which the file is being sent. This field is more for use in mainland Europe and is
unlikely to be required in the UK.
- XXXX is a sequence number applied to make the filename unique.
