This option allows you to convert the taken times of miscellaneous labour lines to the correct RTS codes, with the original technicians assigned and ready to invoice.
To convert miscellaneous labour lines:
In Service Point-of-Sale, create a WIP and add the miscellaneous labour line(s) to be used.
Complete the labour lines. (Clock on and off if workshop loading is being used)
In the WIP add the correct RTS code(s) and set these lines to status E (Extra).
Note: These lines must have time allowed.
Select the Convert miscellaneous labour lines option from the Tools menu.
The Convert miscellaneous labour lines form is displayed.
From the Existing lines (from) group box, select the miscellaneous labour line that you want to convert.
Note: If you have more than one miscellaneous labour line on the WIP, you can only convert each line separately.
Click the
button.
The time taken on the miscellaneous labour line(s) are allocated to the new lines on the WIP at status E (Extra).
The Convert to text lines check box is checked as a default this will convert the miscellaneous lines to text lines.
Note: If this box is not checked, the original miscellaneous line will be marked for deletion.
Click the OK button to update the extra lines at status E (Extra) on the WIP with the new taken times.
The new lines are completed (set to status C) and ready to invoice (set to invoice status I). The original labour line is converted to a text line so that it can be shown on the customer's invoice.
The Convert miscellaneous labour lines form is displayed when you select the Convert miscellaneous labour lines option on the Tools menu. In this form you can allocate the time taken on the original miscellaneous labour line between the new lines (at status E). The form is split into two groups:
This group box displays the miscellaneous labour lines from the WIP at status C (Complete) in the grid. Within this grid you must select the miscellaneous line that you want to convert.
Tip: Single left-click a line to display a tick symbol in the first column of the grid.
For each line, the following details are summarised:
RTS code: The RTS code used for the miscellaneous labour line.
Description: The description used for the work to be carried out.
Taken: The time taken to do the work.
At the bottom of the convert miscellaneous form, the total numbers of hours taken to complete the miscellaneous lines are highlighted in red.
This group box displays the new lines (extra lines at E status) on the WIP, which will have the taken time allocated to them.
For each new line, the following details are displayed:
Tip: To view the details in the grid, use the horizontal and vertical scrollbars.
RTS code: The RTS code used to carry out the work.
Description: The description of the RTS code.
Allow: The allowed time.
Note: In order to convert the lines, the allowed time must be greater than zero.
Taken: The time taken. This field is initially set to 0 (zero). When you click the
button, the time taken on the selected existing line is allocated between the new lines displayed in the grid.
Push buttons:
: This button is only enabled when you select an existing line. It allocates the time taken on the existing line between the new lines (at E status).
OK: Updates the extra lines (at status E) on the WIP with the new taken times.
Cancel: Cancels the operation.
Help: Displays help on the current application using the default browser.
Convert to text lines: If this box is checked, the system converts the miscellaneous labour line to a text line when the new lines are loaded onto the WIP. If the box is not checked, the system deletes the original line (sets the line to D status).
