Vehicle Health Check (Summary)

The Vehicle Health Check in Point-of-Sale (referred to as VHC in some areas of Autoline), enables you to record the visual vehicle checks made by users, usually from the Service department, onto the Autoline system. The information held in the Vehicle Health check files can interact with other parts of the Autoline system. This is especially relevant to customer follow ups and Upselling while the Vehicle is at a dealer's site, or during Customer Contact Management. Vehicle health check is accessed from a POS Wip with vehicle details attached (if no Wip is present for the vehicle there is an option to create this from the VHC procedure).

Vehicle Health Check Printout

Access is from the Links option on the Menu bar from a Point-of-Sale.

The Vehicle Health printout is produced when you select Links from the menu bar of the main Point-of-Sale form, followed by the action Print VHC. The print out contains pre-determined checks that is then handed to a member of the service department or a technician who checks the vehicle over and makes notes on the findings.

These checks are scored according to whether the fault needs rectification. Examples of a possible scoring structure on a VHC printout are:- Red = Requires urgent attention, Amber = Advisory, Green = Visually OK or Defective, Advised to Customer and OK.

Note: The headings displayed on the form can be personalised during the setup function to allow a current form or layout that users or manufacturers prefer. The three column layout must still be used, however, as only the heading titles can be amended.

Vehicle Health Check Summary Wizard

To display the Form and run the VHC Summary Wizard, click on the Links option on the Menu bar from a Point-of-Sale Wip. The VHC Summary option is available when you select Links from the main Point-of-Sale form menu bar and the Vehicle health check option is taken. The purpose of this function is to load information to the created Wip after a customer has been informed on the result of the Vehicle Health Check.

There are three Vehicle Health Check statuses displayed on the form:

The Load option sets the status of a line to L and loads this into workshop loading and the Wip number appears in the Jobs form. The Reminder option allows for the work to be deferred and a reminder date to be set for the future and loads the line to the Wip at N status. This is very important as a prompt will be generated each time the vehicle record is loaded until either the work is carried out or the job is deleted. The Delete option removes the VHC record from the vehicle.

To run the Vehicle Health Check Wizard:

  1. From a POS Wip Click the Links Menubar option > Vehicle Health Check > VHC Summary.

The Vehicle Health Check Summary form is displayed.

  2. Select the correct status for VHC Entry Menus from the Editable column headed Load Mode.

You are presented with three statuses, Load, Reminder and Delete, from a drop-down box.

  3. The line statuses on the Wip are updated as the appropriate drop-down option is selected.

Load: Creates an entry for the Wip in Workshop loading and sets the line to B status.

Reminder: Updates the line to a predefined reminder status (default is set to N) and creates an entry in the Reminder notes file with an associated future reminder date. The default date is shown on the line as the status is changed and is made available to change via a pop-up box called Reminder Follow-up Date. The dates can be changed manually or via a system calender accessed by clicking the ellipsis button and confirming the date change by clicking OK. If left unedited the default date is used.

Tip: The default is set as a number of days in the Vehicle Health Check levels file.

Delete: Updates the status of the line to D and deletes the line from the Wip.

  4. Update the line statuses using the drop-down menu as appropriate and then click the Finish button. Click the Cancel button to Exit the form.

You are returned to the Wip.
