Batch Validation
It is also possible to validate a batch of address instead of a single address. To access the Mercedes-Benz Batch Address Validation program, you must:
- Select from the Mercedes-Benz Main Menu, the Menu - Marketing option.
- The Mercedes-Benz Marketing menu is displayed.
- Select the Mercedes-Benz Batch Address Validation option.
- The Send Address Data to address validation form is displayed.
- To start the Validation, select from the Address data menu the Validation option.
- If an address is validated, it is displayed in the grid.
- Magic number: Magic number of the target
- Name: Name of the target
- Address data: Address of the target
- Response address data: Validated address of the target
- OK: Ticked addresses will be update.
- Tick the addresses that you want to update by ticking the OK column.
- To tick all addresses, click the OK field in the header row of the grid, all addresses get a tick in the OK column. To untick all addresses, click the OK field in the header row of the grid again.
- Right clicking the Magic number of the Target or Company line in the grid will open the Right click menu.
- The Right click menu gives the opportunity to Re-validate or Delete, both options are explained below.
- Re-validate: Will re-validate the address for the selected target or company again.
- Delete: Deletes the Target or Company record from the grid.
- To update the ticked addresses, select from the Update option from the Address data menu.
- During the update of the addresses on the Marketing Target and Company records, the Updating Addresses form is displayed.
- After the update, the number of Marketing records that is updated is displayed.
- By running a report, it is possible to check the Target and Company addresses for validation. These reports are located in the Reports menu.
- If applicable the From first letter and To first letter value's are taken over to the report.
Errors during Batch Validation
- If errors occur during the Batch Validation of addresses, the Error button is enabled. To view the errors, you must select the Error icon from the Toolbar or select the View errors option from the Address data menu.
- The Errors are displayed.
Connection Error
- If the connection to the server on which the address validation software is installed is lost during the batch validation, a message is displayed.
- Select the Continue button to proceed. In that case a new connection will be set up and if it is established successful, the batch validation will continue.
- Select Cancel to cancel the batch validation. Already validated addresses, which are placed in the grid, can be processed. If there is no reaction from the user for 10 seconds, the batch validation is cancelled
Batch Validation parameter
- The File menu contains the parameters for the Batch Validation of addresses.
- Select from the File menu the Parameters option.
- Enter the Maximum number of addresses, which can be processed at once. Select the OK button to save the parameter.
